We are very excited about our collaborative show with Blacks Visual exploring modern visual merchandising techniques. The creative fusion proves two minds are better than one when it comes to creating new retail concepts, based on our joint reappraisal of the nature of retail and physical stores and our shared keen sense of emerging trends.


Blacks and Proportion are ideal partners, both differentiating themselves from other design manufacturers with their unique retail approach that has attracted clients all over the world. Blacks’ Creative Director, Sasha Rozario,  said: "This collaboration enables us to offer a 360° perspective on retail presentation, which uniquely positions us within the industry.”

‘emporia’ will encourage retailers to mix and match fearlessly with the use of multi-purpose, kit-building collections; enabling them to cross-merchandise with confidence and conviction. Malleable display methods at the show will include mannequins, bust forms, furniture and props which can be used to showcase a broad mix of retail disciplines ranging from clothing and accessories through to stationery and homewares.


The show embodies fluid geometry and is thoughtfully divided into loose rooms by juxtaposing themes. A maximalist, opulent display will open the show with a bold and exuberant play of colour and texture, sharply contrasted with a neutral space that features innovative furniture ideas. We will also tackle stationery, babywear and utility items and reveal some interesting materials and processes that we are currently experimenting with.


An innovative approach to display arouses curiosity and will encourage retailers to think outside the box and distinguish themselves in today’s extremely competitive market. Creative Director, Tanya Reynolds, said: “It’s vital that retailers create emotive store environments by incorporating story-telling in their strategy to sell a lifestyle and not a product.”​
